Banner Health is conducting a national search for Cancer Center Medical Director, Banner MD Anderson to lead our partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center. As the top Medical Officer for Banner-MD Anderson Cancer Center, you will lead the vision, direction, and development of all clinical services and programs, multi-disciplinary practices, and relationships with the University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center. This includes oversight of clinical operations, clinical research, quality/outcomes, and professional services within oncology service line development. Banner-MD Anderson Cancer Center has undergone remarkable growth as well as becoming a trusted destination for many cancer patients throughout the region. In addition to the main cancer center at Banner Gateway Medical Center, the program now provides services at eight other Banner hospital campuses (including Northern Colorado). Banner Cancer Specialists employs over 160 physicians and advanced practice providers, representing over 20 specialties. Banner-MD Anderson Cancer Center is increasingly recognized in the Southwest for its multidisciplinary disease-site teams and expertise, exceptional patient experience, and the extent of its treatment, diagnostic, and support services. With over 75 active clinical trials serving over 300 patients per year and publications in some of the most respected medical journals, the research program is robust and increasingly distinguished for its success.  

Position Overview

This position provides cancer center leadership, vision, direction, and development of all clinical programs comprised at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Centers (BMDACCs) and associated service line.

  • Proactively promotes excellence in patient care, customer service, consultative services, and practice efficiency.
  • Represents M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) clinical leadership at BMDACCs. Leadership responsibilities include directing, planning, and coordinating all clinical activities and programs of BMDACCs and its physicians and advanced-practice providers.
  • Develops strategic plans and proactively promotes positive public relations. Assures clinical activities are efficient, effective, and appropriately support the research-driven, multidisciplinary, patient-centered clinical mission of the cancer center.
  • Serves as a physician executive on the system Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) for Banner Health.
  • Serves as a member of the Banner Medical Group (BMG) clinical leadership team at the system level, building and supporting effective collegial relationships with applicable internal and external constituents and stakeholders and ensuring optimal operating effectiveness and strategic positioning.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine. Board Certification in respective specialty/discipline. Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current State license to practice medicine and be eligible for medical staff privileges.
