Northwell Health’s Department of Pathology (Staten Island) is recruiting an outstanding candidate for a full-time position as a Gastrointestinal (GI) pathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants with sub-specialty training in Liver pathology would be of added value. Clinical Research is supported and an independent residency program is in place.

The individual in this position would be required to sign out general surgical pathology as well as GI pathology cases. As such, the duties of the position include participation in the day-to-day operation of the surgical pathology service (i.e. frozen sections, biopsy and surgical case sign out, education and supervision of residents, organization of inter and inter-departmental conferences and provision of GI consultative services to both pathologists and clinicians). In essence, this individual would serve as a liaison between the Department of Pathology, Gastroenterologists, and GI surgeons. Interested applicants should be prepared to speak to their qualifications for all aspects of the position.
