Assistant Professor of Medicine at CUMC

The Columbia University Medical Center/ New York Presbyterian Hospital seeks applications for a physician scientist with a specific expertise in the field of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The position prioritizes research and the majority of the job duties involve research (at least 51%). It also involves clinical and educational activities including supervising cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students. The applicant will be a cardiologist who is fellowship trained and board certified/board eligible for both adult cardiovascular medicine and adult echocardiography, and has demonstrated excellence in clinical care and research. The applicant must have (1) a strong background and expertise in the clinical care and research in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with at least one-year fellowship experience dedicated to this disease and (2) experience in bioinformatics and multi-omics systems biology (e.g., gemonics, proteomics, and metabolomics). In addition, the applicant must have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated through a strong publication record and a history of research funding. Salary will be at a fair market rate and commensurate with academic rank Assistant Professor, which will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.”
