The Department of Pediatrics at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of the Zucker School of Medicine of Hofstra/Northwell is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with advanced training in imaging who has particular experience and interest in CMR and cardiac CT.

The imaging program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center is extremely robust and includes nine faculty members who perform approximately 13,000 transthoracic echocardiograms, 3,000 fetal echocardiograms, 150 transesophageal echocardiograms, and 200 CMRs annually. The applicant will join the cMR team in expanding the CMR program and will be responsible for advancing the current cardiac CT program. In 2017, the children’s hospital opened a state-of-the-art MRI unit with one 1.5T and one 3T magnet as well as a sedation and recovery area. The referral base for MRIs is expanding and there are ample opportunities for clinical and research growth.

The pediatric cardiology division is a full service program comprised of 21 cardiologists, two cardiothoracic surgeons, and four midlevel providers who practice in 13 locations serving approximately 9,000,000 residents. Faculty are engaged in clinical activities, research, and the education of medical students, pediatric residents, and seven core pediatric cardiology fellows. The program cares for pediatric cardiac patients of all ages with heart disease and has the largest adult congenital heart program on Long Island. Invasive clinical activities include performing approximately 250 cardiothoracic surgeries, 200 hemodynamic catheterizations, and 100 electrophysiology procedures.
