Section Chief of Child Abuse Pediatrics – Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health, Zucker School of Medicine of Northwell Health

Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health and Zucker School of Medicine is recruiting a Section Chief of Child Abuse Pediatrics to join our Division of General Pediatrics and Child Protection Team. The Section Chief will have the opportunity to grow the clinical, teaching, research, and advocacy portfolio for the Section of Child Abuse Pediatrics.

We are recruiting for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position.

The Section of Child Abuse Pediatrics currently provides inpatient and outpatient consultations for suspected abuse and neglect. We also provide medical services at the Queens Child Advocacy Center, an NCA-fully accredited co-located CAC. There is wide flexibility for teaching, scholarly activity, and research with a strong group of education and research-engaged colleagues.

The Division of General Pediatrics sees over 60,000 children annually, and is the ambulatory care training site for nearly 100 pediatric residents, over 120 medical students, and some allied health professionals. The Division has a strong research and quality improvement portfolio, and has over $1 million in annual federal and foundation grant funding.

Cohen Children’s Medical Center, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is a 202-bed, tertiary facility, completely dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents and is the only exclusively dedicated pediatric hospital on Long Island. As the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the New York metropolitan region, treating over 230,000 children per year, we are the tertiary pediatric medical center of Northwell Health and the only NYS Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island. We are proud to have been selected as one of “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” by US News & World Report. In addition to the renowned tertiary clinical resources that we offer, our faculty also enjoys access to the scholastic and research resources of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Long Island is home to the world’s most beautiful beaches and state parks which offer an array of outdoor activities. You can easily access Manhattan within 30 minutes to catch a Broadway show, visit a museum, or attend a performance at the Met. Whatever your lifestyle, you can find a neighborhood to call home.

This will be a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health and the Zucker School of Medicine is committed to recruiting and supporting a diverse student body, faculty, and administrative staff.
