Emergency Physician: Associate Director of Emergency Ultrasound

The DHMC Emergency Department is currently recruiting academic faculty to work clinically and help support the department's emergency medicine residency and medical student teaching mission. As part of the recruitment process the emergency medicine section has committed to expanding the ultrasound faculty given the rapid growth of point of care ultrasound (PoCUS) within the emergency department, Lebanon campus, enterprise, and beyond. The Associate Director of Emergency Ultrasound position responsibilities include: resident lectures/workshops/scanning shifts, medical school US integration, departmental/interdepartmental/regional ultrasound training, and assisting pioneer emergency department PoCUS delivery systems. For the right candidate, a Co-Fellowship Director position could be developed. Prior ultrasound leadership experience within an emergency medicine residency or emergency ultrasound fellowship is highly sought.

Qualified candidate must have:
  • Leadership experience in an organization of comparable scope or complexity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing the highest quality and cost- efficient emergency medical care.
  • BC/BE in Emergency Medicine and in the process of completing or have completed an emergency ultrasound fellowship.
  • Eligibility for appointment to the professional staff at D-H.
  • Academic credentials at minimum commensurate with appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at rank of assistant professor.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and track record of robust research.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of NH

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is a full accredited level 1 trauma, stroke, and STEMI receiving center. Our high acuity 35 bed emergency department serves approximately 35,000 patients per year with an admission rate of approximately 35%. The ED hosts a 3 year emergency medicine residency and 1 year emergency ultrasound fellowship.
