Medcor is conducting a national search to find a talented MD/DO who is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice to join our team for a full-time opportunity as our Associate Medical Director. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday, working in a corporate and/or a home office setting; however, some travel and flexibility will be required, including call. The Associate Medical Director (AMD) is a full-time physician-member of the Clinical Affairs Department. The position has broad leadership, oversight, and development responsibilities.

The Associate Medical Director is expected to:

  • Communicate openly and honestly with Medcor medical leadership, Medcor staff, clients, physicians, PAs, NPs, and patients

  • Follow evidenced based medicine standards

  • Comport him or herself in a manner that represents their profession and Medcor in the most positive light

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shared Corporate Clinical Oversight over Medcor’s Advanced Practice Clinics, Occupational Health Clinics and Construction Clinics
    • Scope of care:
      • consult and review proposed contract medical services –
    • Hiring/recruiting:
      • provider and oversight physician requirements, interviews, decision to hire
    • Training and education:
      • Clinic start-up, clinical updates, individual remedial training
      • Development of evidence-based standards
      • Development of training to support clinicians, providers, and staff
      • Medcor's monthly Clinician Journal Club
    • Liaison:
      • Oversight physicians, Clients, Medcor Operations, Marketing and Sales
    • Site visits (occasional):
      • Sales presentations
      • Clinic/Client support needs 
  • Development and Maintenance
    • Injury Triage algorithm development and maintenance
    • Primary Care Clinics care "templates" / order sets
    • Occupational Health Clinic protocol development and maintenance
  • Special projects, including but not limited to:
    • Seasonal MLP supervision at Yellowstone National Park working under the YNP Medical Director
    • Medcor Telemedicine Project
    • Assisted Telemedicine
    • Vaccination programs oversight
    • Medcor Injury Triage
    • Population Health
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer; flexibility is key

  • Overall direction of Clinical Quality for Primary Care Clinics
    • Support the Quality Process:
      • Data definition, study parameters, extraction/reports from EMR, individual follow-up and training, re-measurement
      • Address clinical concerns and complaints
      • Design and execute clinical quality studies
      • Report to the Clinical Quality Committee

Must Have

  • Current Board Certification is Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine
  • A current and unrestricted DEA registration and, as applicable, state controlled substances registration
  • A minimum of three years of independent working experience in specified specialty (after postgraduate training)
  • Experience in developing and delivering medical education
  • Proficiency with e-mail, internet browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. User experience with an electronic medical record(s.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, clients, and colleagues
  • Solid analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive outlook, a collaborative team player, and commitment to excellence

Nice to Have

  • Some occupational health and Workers’ Compensation knowledge
  • Program Director or similar administrative experience

Travel Requirement

  • Some travel is required; no more than 20% of total working hours
