The Division of Surgical Oncology Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, is seeking an endocrine surgeon for the Section of Endocrine Surgery. Successful candidates will be board-certified in general surgery and have fellowship training in surgical oncology or endocrine surgery.
Academic rank will be determined based on individual qualifications. It is anticipated that this position will consist of clinical activities and protected research time based on candidate's qualifications. The candidate will be expected to participate fully in the activities of the Division and Department, including clinical care, research, and teaching of medical students, surgery residents, fellows, and ancillary staff.
Duke's endocrine surgery faculty have extensive experience in state-of-the-art thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, and adrenalectomy for cancer and benign diseases. They perform more than 1,200 cases per year. They perform minimally invasive surgery, including-minimal access thyroidectomy, robotic thyroidectomy, minimally invasive parathyroidectomy under local analgesia, laparoscopic and robotic adrenalectomy, and posterior retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy.
