Rush University Medical Center and Jochen Reiser, MD, PhD, and Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Division Chief of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine. This program is located in downtown Chicago, IL and is currently ranked #14 in the 2018 US News & World Report.

The successful candidate will be a physician or physician-scientist with a strong vision for growth and demonstrate a commitment to clinical service, community engagement, research, and academic excellence. Qualified candidates must have an established reputation in the field and a strong record of collaborative leadership. In addition, they must have an MD or equivalent degree, be board-certified/board-eligible, and possess credentials that merit appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.

The Division is consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top geriatrics program. It has a long history of excellence in clinical care, training, education, and research and is home to the Rush Institute for Healthy Aging. The Division has a thriving research arm with more than $7 million in annual funding. This growing Division of more than 20 faculty members has many new clinical and educational programs with opportunities for research and scholarly growth. Candidates would be joining an established group in an academic setting with clinical programs in sub-acute care and hospice as well as inpatient and ambulatory geriatrics.

Rush University Medical Center is ranked in 7 of 16 categories in U.S. News & World Report's 2018-2019 "America's Best Hospitals" issue, and is one of the two top-ranked hospitals in Illinois overall.
