Seeking a qualified and committed Medical Director

A Federally Qualified Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, is actively seeking a qualified and committed Medical Director to join its team. This large Community Health Center has served Pittsburgh for 40 years, delivering primary medical care, dental, and behavioral health care to many of the city’s most underserved areas. The Medical Director will provide organizational leadership and is responsible for the supervision of clinical staff in the organization’s 10 locations. Direct medical care for patients is part of the Medical Director’s duties in addition to providing oversight of clinical programs and services, including development and implementation.

Other responsibilities include:

• Coordination of staff and clinical work-flow. Knowledge of medical, dental, and other clinical protocols and terminology.
• Development and oversight of quality improvement programs. 
• Oversees credentialing of clinical practitioners. 
• Coordinates medical department staff meetings. 

The Community Health Center is considering physicians with experience in supervision of advanced practice nurses and physician assistants. Experience as a Medical Director is preferred. Board certification in a primary care medical specialty is required as is a DEA license and certification in CPR.
