The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Northwell Health, is seeking mid-level to senior neonatologists with strong research portfolio to strengthen a research program based at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research (https://www.feinsteininstitute.org/programs-researchers/).

Our multidisciplinary laboratory has focused on the effects of oxidant injury on lung and brain, the immune properties of human milk, and animal models of pulmonary hypertension. Multicenter clinical trials are ongoing, as well as investigations on nutrition, intestinal and lung microbiota, skin care, oximetry, pulmonary hypertension therapy, neonatal resuscitation, and wireless monitoring. There is an extensive database for use by investigators interested in neonatal outcomes research. Several division faculty conduct structured quality improvement projects.

The Northwell Neonatal Service Line consists of 12 hospitals proving newborn care, 40,000 births, and 5,000 NICU admissions. The central Division is focused at Cohen Children’s and North Shore University Hospital, Level IV, and III NICUs, respectively, comprising 20,000 births and 3,500 NICU admissions annually. Multispecialty teams for Intestinal Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Hypertension provide continuity for patient care and facilitate translational research at the Division’s dedicated laboratory facilities at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. There is a large fellowship program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and fellows have ample opportunity for research.

Candidates will have significant time for research and lab support for supplies and personnel. Candidates will have an academic appointment at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
