Opportunity in a world-class medical center for a junior or mid-level academic psychiatrist in a vibrant and actively growing Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Stony Brook University is undergoing tremendous growth under a new President, Dean and Chair of Psychiatry. Our emergency Psychiatry service is expanding into newly built, spacious accommodations. We are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of providing top notch emergency psychiatric care. Join a diverse, motivated group of clinicians, educators, and researchers in enhancing current services. This includes direct clinical responsibilities and supervision of residents, NPs, and medical students.

Stony Brook University is located in beautiful Suffolk County on the North Shore of Long Island, approximately 40 miles east of New York City. Stony Brook is a wonderful place to live and raise children with many opportunities for recreation as well as ready access to Manhattan.

Required Qualifications: M.D. Board Eligible/Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry. New York State licensure/eligibility. Ability to provide cross-coverage, including some evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program or other emergency psychiatric setting. Track record of research/teaching experience in Emergency Psychiatry. Interest/training in Child Psychiatry.

Minimum Salary: $215,000.

To qualify for a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
