Title: Chair, Department of Surgery
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer, DHMG
Dignity Health Medical Group is actively seeking a highly experienced leader to serve as Chair, Department of Surgery.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be at the Associate Professor or Professor level or equivalent and will have a proven record of clinical excellence in patient care. We are recruiting for a well-rounded and collaborative physician leader with a strong passion for research, teaching, and community outreach. Participation in National Academic Surgical and Critical Care Medicine Societies is highly preferred. Additionally, prior experience in managing growth and the development of a robust residency training program is highly desirable.
The Department Chair will be primarily accountable for the overall success of the Department of Surgery through continuously improving the quality of clinical care, education, and scholarship. This position is also responsible for collaborating with the Medical Group Administration to strategically plan the future growth and development of the Department, the Service Lines within the Department, and the implementation of educational programs. Additionally, this position will serve as the liaison for quality and cost effective initiatives between DHMG and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
Minimum Requirements:
- MD or DO Degree and Board Certification
- Completed ACGME Residency training with current ABMS Board Certification
- Proven Leadership experience
- Clinical responsibilities within the previous five years
- Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
- Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
