About Memorial Cancer Institute at Memorial Healthcare System:

Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI) is the fifth largest cancer center in the State of Florida. The cancer program’s medical and surgical oncologists operate within a disease specific model with specialty programs in Breast, Lung, GI, Neurology, Urology, and Hematology Malignancies including a robust Bone Marrow Transplant Program.

The Breast Cancer Program is the third largest in the State of Florida (with more than 900 new patients per year) and currently includes a team of surgeons and  medical oncologists who dedicate their practice exclusively to breast care including a high risk program. Our program also includes highly specialized board-certified radiation oncologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, oncology-certified nurses, registered radiation therapists, certified physicists and certified dosimetrists, among others. A dedicated clinical research program makes available novel opportunities to participate in early phase work with disease specific research nurse support. The program also enjoys an interdisciplinary approach to planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of cancer patients including the services of an onsite full-time clinical psychologist, a physician specialized in palliation and pain, along with an integrative team offering acupuncture, massage, and herbal therapy, as well as nutritionists, social workers, and nurse practitioners dedicated and trained in cancer risk assessment work to facilitate the needs beyond treatment. The Image Recovery Center®, a unique component of the Memorial Cancer Institute, is accredited and has board-certified mastectomy fitters on site to assist with patient needs. Memorial Cancer Institute is a member of the National Consortium of Breast Cancers. Research affiliations include the NCI cooperative group Alliance; UCLA-Johnson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), and Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU) at Mayo Clinic.
