Stamford Hospital, located in highly desirable region of Connecticut, is seeking a Division Director of Urology. With the steadfast support of hospital leadership and the Chair of Surgery, Dr. Michael Stone, this Division Director will have the autonomy to build a urology division within a brand new, world-class 300-bed facility (pictured) due to open in 2016.

Stamford Hospital is equipped with a new da Vinci Xi robot and a state-of-the-art facility providing the Division leader the ability to have a practice they desire. Stamford Hospital, serving Fairfield and Westchester counties, is an affiliate of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System and a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. '

Position Description (including but not limited to):
  • Position reports to: Chair, Department of Surgery
  • Overseeing all clinical care efforts within the Division of Urology at Stamford Hospital
  • Practicing as a clinically active Urologist and member in good standing of the medical staff'
  • Making administrative decisions related to Urology within established operating philosophy, goals and objectives of Stamford Hospital
  • Assuring quality of services through the establishment of clinical standards, quality metrics and benchmarks, and iterative assessment of programs and outcomes
  • Taking a leadership role in business development efforts for the Division of Urology'
  • Promoting growth and expansion of services, along with financial success
  • Collaborating with nursing and other disciplines in assuring high quality care'
Candidate Description:
  • Board certified by The American Board of Urology
  • Currently holds, or have the ability to obtain, Connecticut state licensure
  • Exemplifies leadership qualities to successfully develop a urology program within a renowned organization
  • Exceptional communication skills required to effectively interact with colleagues and execute a vision for the program
  • Six to ten years of clinical and institutional leadership preferred
