The Quality and Outcomes Physician will be responsible for leading quality improvement projects and conducting research focused on advancing patient safety, improving patient-centered outcomes, and optimizing resource utilization, as part of ongoing efforts of the BJC HealthCare Center for Clinical Excellence (CCE).

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Serve as physician lead for CCE patient safety and outcomes improvement efforts and resource optimization projects
  • Work with clinicians within CCE and BJC hospitals to develop patient safety, patient-centered outcomes, and resources utilization improvement interventions
  • Work with CCE leadership to establish priorities for improvement efforts and research in patient safety and patient-centered outcomes
  • Work with CCE analysts to assess the impact of federal and state quality measurement and improvement policies and programs, and to evaluate potential partnerships with other organization and collaborations
  • Work with CCE epidemiology and analytics resources and Washington University School of Medicine collaborators to design clinical studies focused on patient safety, patient-centered outcomes, and efficiency of care delivery; collaborate to analyze outcomes data; prepares abstracts for national presentation and manuscripts for journal publication

Candidate Description:

  • Must have medical degree and completion of residency training in clinical specialty
  • 5+ Years experience in active practice
  • 3+ Years experience in a position involving quality management, case management, utilization review, and/or medical staff leadership
  • Quality and outcomes leadership experience required
  • Capable of effectively educating peers and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff members within various disciplines
