Are you a visionary, first-rate Scientific Leader seeking a career at one of the preeminent biomedical research institutes in the nation and the world? This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to serve as the chief visionary for the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program, actively engaging others to create a shared vision of the purpose and direction of the program. The Program Director serves as project officer and program administrator/director, advises the NIH Director and Institute and Center (IC) Directors on the development of the program, and serves as spokesperson for the ECHO Program in communicating with the scientific community, Congress, and other Federal agencies.

We are looking for applicants with a commitment to scientific excellence and the energy, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking necessary to lead a large, dynamic, and diverse program. Applicants must possess an MD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in the biomedical sciences and have senior-level research experience and  knowledge of research programs in epidemiology, pediatrics, and/or environmental health issues. In addition, applicants must have extensive scientific experience running large epidemiological cohort studies. The successful candidate for this position will be appointed at a salary commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and full Federal benefits, including leave, health and life insurance, retirement and savings plan (401K equivalent) will be provided.
