The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) and the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UNM School of Medicine invites medical oncology applicants with experience in gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary cancers. This is an Open Rank, Open Track position. Faculty rank and appointment will be commensurate with accomplishments. The successful applicant is expected to serve as a reference expert clinician, clinical investigator, physician-scientist, or population scientist. This person will need to be able to seamlessly collaborate and participate in the ongoing redevelopment of a multidisciplinary GI Cancer Working Group involving academic surgeons, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and gastroenterologists in the tertiary oncological setting of an NCI-designated cancer center. State-of-the-art facilities along with excellent support and opportunities are available for research collaboration with laboratory-based investigators, population scientists, and/or clinical trialists (investigator-initiated and cooperative group trials). Minimum qualifications are: 1) MD degree with board certification in Internal Medicine; 2) Board certification/eligibility in Medical Oncology; 3) Must be eligible to work in the US., this is not a J-1 Visa opportunity. Preferred qualifications include: 1) Experience in GI cancer management and clinical trials.
