The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) and the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UNM School of Medicine invite physicians or physician scientists with training and expertise in medical oncology and a focused interest in clinical care and clinical research for patients with Head and Neck malignancies. The successful applicant will participate in the multidisciplinary clinical care of patients and in the design and conduct of cancer clinical trials as a member or co-leader of the Multidisciplinary Working Group in Head and Neck Malignancies. This is an Open Rank, Open Track position. Faculty rank and appointment will be commensurate with accomplishments. The successful applicant will have fellowship training or experience in the clinical care of head and neck cancers and strong interest in the development of clinical trials and novel targeted therapies. Emphasis is placed on the ability to foster interaction between laboratory and clinical investigators, participate in multidisciplinary clinical trial teams, and participate in the teaching mission of the Division, Center, and institution. Minimum qualifications include: 1) MD or MD/PhD degree with board certification in Internal Medicine; 2) Board certification/eligibility in Medical Oncology; 3) Experience in cancer clinical trials with a focused interest in head and neck malignancies, and 4) Must be eligible to work in the US. Preferred qualifications include: 1) Experience in cancer clinical trial design and conduct; 2) Experience in resident/fellow education.
