JOB SUMMARY:Assuring logistics of all physician and patient educational efforts in genomics. Develops content, oversees implementation, and surveys satisfaction levels of all patient education materials. Oversees and coordinates the Continuing Medical Education (CME) content development in genomics, hosting internally and externally, and all interactions with the Center for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD) to ensure CME credits are granted to all learners. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality medical education, patient care, and patient satisfaction.

Reports to the Director of Clinical Genomics.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*1. Educational Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements genomics content in collaboration with GenomeFIRST team
• Creates patient-facing educational content
• Oversees the creation of physician and healthcare provider educational content
• Implements program evaluations. Creates new evaluations as needed.
• Program planning: Plans and tracks educational programs.

*2. Administration Responsibilities:

• Responsible for making sure CME policies and procedures are in compliance with CCPD requirements.
• Keeps current on various regulatory guidelines.
• Assists in preparation of the budget.
• Maintains both patient and provider educational materials in web-based format.
• Conducts and maintains evaluations of patient and provider educational modules.

SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:Demonstrated proficiency in the managing projects and project staff.

Demonstrated ability to influence colleagues to meet demanding project timelines.

Demonstrated experience with software (word-processing, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet
required; some experience with Adobe Flash preferred).

Demonstrated project management skills, but not necessarily applied to research.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks.

Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills
(interpersonal communication and technological effectiveness competencies).

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrates the ability to be self-motivated and possess excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Master’s degree in education required (science-related field will be considered). PhD preferred.

Experience in postgraduate education is preferred.

Leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
