Emergency Physicians Assistants (EPA) function under the administrative supervision of the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the direct supervision of the on-duty Emergency Physician. They are utilized in the Emergency Department and in the Express Care Unit and are credentialed to perform clinical assessments and procedures independently. They also perform various administrative functions, such as record reviews, laboratory result follow-ups, x-ray follow-ups, ekg follow-ups, etc.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Physicians Assistant program
- Current certification by NCCPA
- Current licensure by Connecticut (PA and Controlled Substance)
- Current provider certification in ACLS and PALS
- At least one year of Emergency Department experience preferred
