The Division of Nephrology and Department of Medicine at Stanford University are seeking up to three board certified nephrologists/clinical investigators at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor with clinical and research expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas: acute kidney injury, ICU nephrology, inflammatory kidney diseases, genetic kidney diseases (including, but not limited to polycystic kidney disease), metabolic kidney diseases (including, but not limited to diabetic kidney disease), global health, health disparities in kidney disease, social determinants of kidney disease, and health economics of kidney disease. The position will be in the Medical Center Line, with the expectation that time will be split among clinical, research, and teaching activities.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

The successful candidate will be expected to have outstanding clinical and teaching skills. The candidate is required to contribute to the clinical programs, and either have an established track record of funded research or have demonstrated the ability or shown the potential to obtain peer-reviewed research funding relevant to diverse areas within nephrology, including but not limited to acute renal failure (acute kidney injury), bioengineering, bone and mineral metabolism, critical care nephrology, dialysis research, genetics of kidney disease (including polycystic kidney disease and other inherited kidney diseases), global health in kidney disease, health economics/health policy, occupational/environmental health in kidney disease, and a variety of types of patient-oriented research. The candidate must hold an MD and be board certified in Nephrology, possess or be able to obtain a California medical license, and be qualified for appointment to a faculty position at Stanford University.
