The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Geisinger is searching for AP or AP/CP pathologists in GI/Liver subspecialty due to system growth!
AT A GLANCE:
Geisinger's core laboratory is in a state-of-the-art facility located in Danville, PA, with a new pathology residency program and well-established cytopathology, dermatopathology and informatics fellowship programs
Laboratory Medicine performs approximately 10 million billable clinical tests, 97,000 surgical cases and 42,000 cytology cases including 3,900 FNA's in 2017 system wide
Professional staff includes 41 pathologists and PhD's
Pathology and laboratory services are integrated across the Geisinger system with pathologists at different sites sharing a common workload of subspecialty models
Potential opportunities for leadership positions within the Laboratory
QUALIFICATIONS:
AP/CP or AP board certified
Fellowship training or expertise in related subspecialty preferred
Interest in teaching and clinical translational research experience preferred, not required

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER (GMC): located in Danville, PA, the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region's only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women's health (in the Women's Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics. The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
