We see persons from around the world who speak more than 50 languages, most commonly Spanish. The OB-GYN Department has a long-standing tradition of providing outstanding care to the women of Denver through our integrated health care network. The collaboration between the OB-GYN physicians, Certified Nurse-Midwives, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners, Family Medicine Physicians, and Advanced Care Providers delivers seamless care for our patients. Last year, the 11 clinic sites had 40,000 prenatal visits and 3,400 deliveries which is approximately 1/3 of the deliveries in Denver. The Gynecology service cares for 1/3 of the women in Denver and last year our network provided 18,000 visits.

Denver Health is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, where all faculty have full-time academic appointments. Denver Health is an essential teaching site for the School of Medicine. OB-GYN residents do approximately 1/3 of their clinical work at Denver Health. The Department serves additional learners including family medicine and emergency medicine residents, medical students, nurse-midwife students, psychology interns, and nurse practitioner students.

Denver Health believes the best way to know how to take care of women’s health needs is through research. The OB-GYN team has a strong infrastructure for clinical research, and it currently has multiple funded studies.
