Cejka Executive Search has been exclusively retained by Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics, a nationally-recognized, top rural hospital, to assist in the recruitment of an innovative leader to serve as Chief Operating Officer.

Headquartered in Shelton, Washington and established in 1968, Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics (MGH&FC) is a publicly-owned health system governed by a Board of Commissioners. MGH&FC is comprised of a critical access hospital, eleven clinics, 100 physicians on staff, and provides high quality care to patients through its multi-specialty clinics, birth center, emergency medicine services, hospitalist program, wound care center, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and telehealth services. MGH&FC provides exceptional healthcare and is known throughout Washington as one of the highest-rated rural hospital districts in the State. Its full-service clinics are complemented by eight dental clinics, four physical therapy clinics, and numerous ancillary health services to address routine and/or complex needs of the patient populations and communities served.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will be a visionary and progressive thinker who will provide strategic leadership and line responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of all operational areas. The COO will ensure strategies, objectives and results are in accord with overall District needs and will work in close collaboration with other members of the executive team in overall planning and administration. Promoting the fiscal success and delivery of high quality service and care, the COO will serve as a mentor to staff, an advocate in the community, and a relationship-builder with physicians and other key stakeholders.

Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics serves patients throughout Mason County. Situated on the southernmost tip of Puget Sound, Shelton offers an abundance of year-round recreational activities including hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing, whale watching, skiing, snowshoeing and numerous others. Located 30 minutes from the State Capital of Olympia and 90 miles from Seattle, Shelton boasts a small town lifestyle while enjoying the benefits of large metropolitan cities close by.
 
Successful candidates will have at least five years of healthcare senior leadership experience, demonstrated success in medical staff relationships, high commitment to quality, and a proven track record of performance and systems improvement in a hospital environment. The COO will also have a strong business acumen and an understanding of the challenges associated with rural health care. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.
