The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is seeking an outstanding electrophysiologist for our rapidly growing program in cardiac electrophysiology in Houston, Texas.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center-McGovern Medical School invites applications for a full-time non-tenure Assistant Professor faculty position in the Department of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation (ACTAT)-EP Heart Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Program.
Position Key Responsibilities:
- Examines and treats disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular conduction system. These include but are not limited to conditions such as atrial and ventricular arrhythmias as well as heart blocks.
- Diagnoses and manages patients both in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Performs various advanced and complex cardiac procedures to normalize abnormal heart rhythms as well as procedures such as placement of permanent pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and devices for cardiac resynchronization therapy.
- Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
- Must be willing to travel for outreach clinics and procedures to other clinical locations in and around Corpus Christi/McAllen as well as Houston.
Qualifications
- Texas medical license or be eligible to be licensed
- Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) in CCEP.
