Searching for full-time BE/BC Cardiac Surgeons at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level

The  Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Albany Medical College is in search of full-time BE/BC Cardiac Surgeons at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level to join our growing academic adult cardiac surgery practice. We are seeking skilled clinical surgeons with an interest in teaching in our ACGME-approved thoracic surgery residents along with general surgery residents and medical students. Albany Med offers an environment of academic inquiry, cutting-edge technology, and minimally invasive approaches, clinical or basic research support, and strong mentorship.

We have a population base including 11 counties in our region, including Vermont and Massachusetts. This supports our very active structural heart (over 1,000 TAVRs to date), aortic, coronary artery bypass, valvular repair and replacement, and minimally invasive surgical programs. We also have a growing ECMO program. The Division is composed of three sections: Adult Cardiac, General Thoracic, and Congenital.

Albany Medical Center is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center and the largest private sector employer in the Capital Region. The Center incorporates the 734-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, one of New York's largest teaching hospitals. Albany Medical College, one of the nation's first private medical colleges, educates many of the doctors and other medical professionals that practice in the region and provides residency and continuing medical education programs. Albany Medical Center also supports a biomedical research enterprise to further understanding of illness and discovery of tomorrow’s cures.
