Applications are invited for the position of the Joseph and Esther Handler Chair in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine with a joint appointment in the Institute of Basic Biomedical Sciences (IBBS) of Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine. We are searching for outstanding individuals with creative, rigorous, and integrative research approaches to key renal pathophysiological processes. Suitable candidates must have an MD or PhD degree, rank of Associate or full Professor; have exceptional promise and a proven record of research achievement.

We are particularly interest in individuals who can integrate the growing body of information on molecular and cellular processes into functionally relevant contexts that translate into important medical advances. Therefore, we are especially interested in individuals who relate the properties of individual genes and proteins to organ-level function and pathogenesis. A successful candidate will have access to, and be expected to actively participate in ongoing graduate and fellowship programs in the School of Medicine.
