Position Description
Seattle, Washington -- Swedish Family Medicine Residency - First Hill is seeking an Associate Director for Clinical Operations to practice at our First Hill clinic site. We are a large, urban family medicine residency with three clinical sites serving some of Seattle’s most vulnerable communities. Our mission is to train family physicians to serve local and global communities through exceptional patient care, leadership, and advocacy for health and social justice. We graduate 11 residents per year, plus five advanced obstetrics fellows and two fellows in geriatric medicine. Our program is affiliated with the University Of Washington School Of Medicine and the WWAMI Family Medicine Residency Network, a collaborative multi-state group of family medicine residencies.
This 1.0 FTE position includes direct clinical care, supervision of residents, curricular work and dedicated administrative time. Ideal candidates will have skills in full-spectrum family medicine, previous teaching experience and demonstrated leadership. The Associate Director functions as the medical director of the First Hill clinic and works closely with program director and the associate director of curriculum in developing and executing our vision of training outstanding family physicians across all of our clinical sites. The First Hill clinic provides over 15,000 patient visits per year. These visits encompass the full spectrum of primary care, including chronic disease management, preventive medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and geriatrics. Our patient population is diverse in age, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity, and we conduct many of our visits utilizing video, in-person and phone interpreters. The Swedish First Hill campus is a 697-bed, general medical and surgical hospital located in downtown Seattle. As the largest of Swedish''s five hospitals, First Hill is considered the main Swedish campus. In addition to the hospital and emergency department, the First Hill campus is home to the Swedish Cancer Institute and the Swedish Orthopedic Institute. The hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including the area''s largest childbirth center, NICU and specialty pediatric care.
