Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is recruiting for a board certified pediatric cardiologist with specialty training and experience in interventional catheterization for congenital heart disease. The successful candidate will join a team of two very experienced congenital catheter interventionalists. Primary responsibilities will be for children and adults with congenital heart disease in need of cardiac catheterization and/or intervention. Catheterization volume has been steadily increasing and is expected to be approximately 450 cases in 2018. Procedures are primarily performed in a state-of-the-art Toshiba biplane lab with 3D rotational angiography capability, with a separate lab for electrophysiology studies. Additional responsibilities will include related outpatient clinic evaluations, sharing inpatient night and weekend call and occasional coverage of the inpatient service. Candidate will participate in research opportunities with supportive resources.

The current faculty includes: three surgeons, two interventional cardiologists, two transplant cardiologists, two imaging cardiologists, one electrophysiologist, and one inpatient cardiologist. The Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) program is an integral part of the Congenital Heart Center and Memorial Cardio-and Vascular Institute (MCVI). The ACHD program is directed by an ACHD specialist with support by all other medical and surgical members of the pediatric heart team in addition to adult subspecialists.

The Interventional Catheterization Program embraces both surgical and interventional approaches and uses aspects of both types of procedures when formulating the best long-term plan for a patient. The Pediatric and Congenital Surgery Program at the Heart Institute has a long–standing reputation for clinical excellence and patient safety. The team utilizes cutting edge sophisticated surgical techniques with outstanding outcomes. The program is a medium sized surgical program and this year will have completed over 300 surgical interventions.

This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
