The Division of Hematology and Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center has been undergoing several years of unprecedented clinical growth and is interested in hiring investigators at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. One position is for a clinician investigator with a primary focus in non-malignant hematology, which will include start-up funding. We are particularly interested in research in thrombotic disease, bleeding disorders and hemoglobinopathies. Through preexisting collaborations there is the opportunity to quickly develop interdisciplinary projects with pulmonary/critical care, obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology/neurosurgery and genomic medicine. The second position is for a basic scientist with a small clinical practice, with startup funding available through grants. For this position we are particularly interested in research in hematologic malignancy, hematopoiesis and/or genomic analysis of thrombotic disease. We view both of these positions as foundations to our goal of establishing a basic science research program in non-malignant hematology and enhancing our reputation for clinical excellence in hemostatic and thrombotic disorders.
Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine and Hematology and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.
