Job Details
- Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a NCAA Division 1-experienced, board certified and fellowship trained primary care sports medicine physician to join our sports medicine team in Utah Valley and serve as the Primary Care Sports Medicine Lead Physician for a major university
- Five years of experience running a D1 program required
- In addition to maintaining a full clinical practice, this physician is required to provide an on-campus clinic for student-athletes for two nights per week for approximately two hours each night
- As Primary Care Sports Medicine Lead Physician, physician will provide home athletic competition event coverage in conjunction with his/her colleagues to cover events including, but not limited to, the following sports: football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s volleyball, softball, and baseball
- Some travel is required for athletic events. Furthermore, physician will provide coverage at university-hosted conferences and/or NCAA championships and other post-season events, including bowl games and postseason basketball tournaments.
- Physician will work with other team physicians, athletic trainers, and medical professionals to establish, review, and maintain clinical protocols and procedures
- Physician will participate and help organize yearly physical events for student athletes
- Intermountain Healthcare has a large referral base of primary care physicians in the Utah Valley and surrounding communities
- Physician will have ready access to diagnostic equipment in both locations and dedicated support staff including medical assistants and athletic trainers
- Practice location will primarily be in Provo, UT, but a satellite presence at another Intermountain clinic in Utah Valley is required
- Employment position with the Intermountain Medical Group
