TriHealth, a large innovative, physician-led integrated health system, is looking for a BE/BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with Pediatric experience for a unique and rewarding opportunity in Student Health Services at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Our goal is to find a candidate who has the ability and desire to fill a leadership role the position will develop into within the next one to two years.
This busy collegiate health clinic with a 100 percent insured patient base serves:
· a campus student population of 21,000+ (age 16-26) averaging 120-180 visits per day
· more than 3,500 university employees averaging 20-30 urgent care visits per day
· a diverse student population; contracted interpreter services are available
In this role you will conduct medical visits, both preventive and episodic, for students and University faculty and staff who present for care including:
· patient examination
· assessment and treatment for illness and injury
· performing high volume office lab procedures typical in primary care
· ordering additional lab work and diagnostics as deemed appropriate
· physicals
· tuberculin testing
· allergy injections in collaboration with student's allergist
· travel health services including travel and routine immunizations; designated Yellow Fever center
· preventive and ongoing-health education
Physician appointments are scheduled every weekday of the academic year. Experienced nurses with training in relevant medical problems and concerns provide professional, compassionate team support.
This position offers excellent work/life balance as a result of working an academic calendar year—off through mid-May to mid-August. Hours to work are an 8a-5p and a 9a-6p rotation. Five 9a-4p Saturdays are required a year, but the clinic is closed on holidays. On-call is only in the event of critical lab results with an occurrence of less than 10 times per year.
