Regional Chair of Internal Medicine

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine Huntsville Regional Medical Campus (HRMC) invites applications for the position of Regional Chair of Internal Medicine. This will be a full-time, open rank, open tenure position. The regional chair is charged with promoting the School's mission of education, service, and scholarly activity in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The internal medicine department provides clinical training for 3rd and 4th year medical students (6-9 per rotation) as well as for internal medicine residents (24 total) and for family medicine residents (36 total). The Internal Medicine Department has the support of dedicated and enthusiastic full-time, part-time, and community volunteer faculty.

Candidates must have an MD/DO degree, board certification in internal medicine or one of its subspecialties, proven clinical expertise, strong leadership qualities and recommendations, a love for teaching and some experience in financial management. The candidate must also qualify for licensure in Alabama, medical staff privileges at Huntsville Hospital, and credentialing with CMS as a physician provider. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. UAB offers excellent benefits and a sign-on/relocation bonus.
