Physician Deputy Editor in Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care
UpToDate/Wolters Kluwer is seeking physician editors in Internal Medicine/Adult Primary care, Infectious Disease (Adult), Nephrology (Adult), and Adult Oncology.
UpToDate®, a leading electronic resource for clinicians, provides current medical information to be used (via computer, smart phone, or tablet) in clinical practice or educational settings. Worldwide use of UpToDate (www.uptodate.com) has transformed medical care and led to improved patient outcomes. UpToDate is part of the international corporation Wolters Kluwer and is located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Physician editors are intellectually curious individuals who enjoy reading and reviewing the medical literature, evaluating the evidence underlying practice recommendations, organizing, presenting information, and collaborating with others. Editors leverage their clinical knowledge and experience to play an active role in creating and maintaining content for use at the point of care. We collaborate with an extensive network of topic authors who are leading experts in their specialties at academic institutions around the world. Editorial positions typically combine editorial work in the UpToDate office (80-90%) with clinical work (10-20%) at one of the many nearby hospitals or healthcare facilities, and the position requires relocating to the Boston area. Work hours are flexible, salaries are competitive, and a career as a physician editor at UpToDate offers an excellent work/life balance.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) and Board Certification/Eligibility in assigned specialty
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, writing, and listening
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and give and receive feedback effectively
- Superior organizational and time management skills
