The Department of Ophthalmology, Duke University School of Medicine (DUSM), is seeking a highly qualified optometrist for a full-time position.  Candidates with residency training and a strong background and interest in anterior segment disease in addition to routine medical eye care and post-operative care are preferred.  The optometrist will be expected to function in collaboration with an anterior segment surgeon, and to work at times as an independent practitioner. This will occur within a busy clinical practice that focuses on anterior segment diseases such as cataracts, corneal disease, and dry eye disease.  The individual selected will have an opportunity to attend clinical rounds, lectures, and conferences.  Initiating or participating in research projects will be possible but not required.

The position represents an opportunity for an individual with outstanding clinical skills, experience in the management of eye disease, perioperative care, and an interest in dry eye disease, to practice in a fast growing clinical setting, and to work with Duke faculty.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
