Job Details

The Northwell Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks a hematopathologist for our Hematopathology pathology service based in Lake Success, NY. The service covers two major tertiary hospitals (North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center), a children’s hospital (Cohen Children’s Medical Center), an active fine needle aspirate interpretation hematopathology service, a large outpatient oncology bone marrow service, directorship of hematology and/or coagulation laboratories in the respective hospitals and the Northwell Core Laboratory. The service also includes a high volume hemoglobinopathy service, and flow cytometry laboratories in each of the tertiary hospitals. The annual volume of tissue and bone marrow cases exceeds 3,500, including over 100 acute leukemia cases and over 10,000 flow cytometry studies. Responsibilities for the candidate may include many/all of the services mentioned.

Eligible candidates must be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology, should have strong diagnostic skills, teaching interest and experience, preferably with more than three years of post-fellowship experience. Strong candidates without experience will be considered as well. A strong academic background with demonstrated academic accomplishments is also desirable.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
