The Division of Nephrology, Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is seeking nephrologists at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level on the Clinician/Educator track. The Division is rapidly expanding and looking for innovative ways to provide superior renal care and improve teaching strategies. This position offers the opportunity to design your career as a Clinician/Educator, attend on multiple clinical services, develop new initiatives, and teach medical students, Internal Medicine residents, and Nephrology fellows. UT Health San Antonio is the premier academic medical center in San Antonio and South Texas, and our Nephrology fellowship program is one of the largest in the country. We are one of only five NIH-funded Kidney Precision Medicine Tissue interrogation sites in the country. In addition to excelling in clinical practice and education, we aim to build on our existing strengths in diabetes, acute kidney injury, aging, cardio-renal disease, fibrosis, and genetic basis of  kidney disease to become national leaders in basic, translational, and clinical Nephrology research.

Candidates for the position must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent degree, have completed an Internal Medicine residency, and a Nephrology fellowship. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License, be board certified in Internal Medicine, and board certified or eligible in Nephrology. Those who wish to be considered for Associate Professor Rank must have extensive clinical experience. The rank and salary will be dependent on the individual's qualifications. Salaries are competitive and there are opportunities for entrepreneurial activity.
