​​​Adventist Health Feather River Hospital in Paradise, CA is seeking a general pediatrician to join their busy and growing multispecialty practice.

· Paradise Medical Group is seeking a full-time pediatrician to join their group in collaboration with Adventist Health Feather River.

· Paradise Medical Group is a primary care group comprised of family practice, internal medicine and pediatrics. There are 9 physicians and 2 physician assistants in the group.

· Bringing in another pediatrician due to one of our pediatricians moving out of the area to be closer to family.

· Adventist Health Feather River was established in 1957, as a 10-bed facility to treat the Ridge community. Today, the Hospital is a 100-bed facility offering compassionate care along with advanced technology. In 1994, the hospital opened The Birth Day Place, which is now one of the most highly desired birthing facilities in the North State.

· Hospital has 1,000 births annually and a Level 1 ½ NICU

· Adventist Health Feather River is one of 21 Adventist Health hospitals located in California, Oregon and Hawaii.

· B/C or B/E in pediatrics is required

· Residents welcome to apply!

· Salary - 1 year salary guarantee of $240,000 plus $600/per 24-hour call coverage - 2nd 3rd Year is production based

· Sign-on bonus and moving allowance offered

· 1:4 call - weekend call and vacation call, no routine weekday call

· Call includes ED, nursery, high risk C-sections and deliveries and hospital rounds

· Physician will work 3 days in the rural health clinic and 2 days in the private practice (rotation is open for discussion)

· No weekend office hours

· 19 days PTO (includes vacation, CME and holidays) 3 days Sick Leave Benefit

· Health and dental insurance

· Life and L/T disability insurance

· Malpractice with tail

· 401K with match after one year


About the Medical Center

Adventist Health Feather River (AHFR) is a 100-bed acute-care medical center, serving a population of 45,000. AHFR is dedicated to extraordinary patient care, as well as meeting the needs of our physicians in both their practice and lifestyle. AHFR has a wide array of outpatient departments and services designed to meet the health care needs of Paradise and the neighboring communities. Services include cancer center, cardiology, critical care, diagnostic laboratory, emergency department, GI laboratory, home health, hospice (including a hospice house), hospital-based outpatient medical offices, home oxygen, medical imaging, obstetrics, rural health center, same-day services, sleep medicine and surgery.

In 2016, AHFR had 5,156 admissions, 819 deliveries, 28,733 emergency visits, and 392,518 outpatient visits. The medical center is staffed by 219 physicians, 1,214 employees and 450 volunteers.

Community Overview

Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Butte County, Paradise, California is a small rural community about 90 minutes north of Sacramento and 15 minutes northeast of Chico (a diverse university town with a population of 88,000). Paradise is positioned on a wide ridge with cavernous canyons on either side, with breathtaking views of the Feather River to the east, and Butte Creek to the west. Nestled about halfway between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe (each about 175 miles away), Paradise offers stunning scenery and outdoor activities including fishing, boating, biking, hiking and golf. Paradise is a beautiful mountain community amid the pines and above the fog with an intriguing gold-rush past. The Gold Nugget Museum, dedicated to preserving and protecting the Ridge's proud Gold Rush heritage, will satisfy history buffs.

The Paradise Ridge features affordable housing, excellent medical facilities, and cultural/educational opportunities through proximity to both Butte College and Chico State University. The character of Paradise is largely defined by the small, independent businesses that invest in our thriving community.

Paradise and its neighboring towns offer unique shops, antiques, dining for all tastes, beautiful parks and friendly, good-hearted people. Families with children can find thriving local sports teams, such as little league, football, soccer and swimming. There are also several adult city league sports teams available.

There are plenty of options for nature lovers, too! With beautiful Bidwell Park in nearby Chico, a park totaling nearly 11 miles in length, offering swimming holes, hiking trails, and walking paths. Nearby Lake Oroville is an oasis for swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, and water sports. The Paradise terrain allows for enjoyable hikes with fantastic views as well. Chico is known for bicyclists, and countless bike paths can be found throughout the city.

Performing arts fans will find a plethora of well-established theater, dance and symphony programs of exceptional quality. Performances are offered at the Paradise Performing Arts Center and the Theatre on the Ridge, the longest running community theatre in the Northstate. Northern California Ballet attracts dancers from all over the world to train and perform with local youth.
