StarMed is assisting our client in Central Pennsylvania with a General Orthopedic Surgery opportunity:

This is a single-specialty, hospital-employed General Orthopedic Surgery position 
• Highly-competitive MGMA-based compensation (based on experience) plus a wRVU-based bonus system
• Generous signing bonus and CME allowance
• Comprehensive benefits/retirement plan
• Practice consists of 10 Providers and needing two more due to growth in community
• Patient load: annual trauma volume is 1800+ patients
• Surgeons work four weeks on (12-hour shifts), two weeks off
• Attractive community with easy access to Washington DC, Pittsburgh,  Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City

Requirements:
• BC Surgeon or BE (if within 5 years of a general surgery residency or fellowship)
• Must have Surgical Critical Care, Acute Care Surgery or Trauma Critical Care Fellowship
• Excellent communication skills

What’s the community like?  “Excellent” rating on schools, “easy living, yet progressive” community, light on traffic jams.  Many cultural and recreational opportunities offer a climate in which children can grow up in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

The medical group provides trauma surgery services and acute general care at a nearby 400-bed regional hospital.  The service area population is over one million. The hospital carries a level two trauma designation with a regional cardiology/cardio-thoracic surgery center and a regional cancer center.  Additional medical services include vascular and endovascular surgery, neurosurgery, behavioral health, vascular and wound care and is a JCAHO-accredited Stroke Center.  The medical staff of over 400 physicians include 70 Primary Care Physicians, interventional cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, vascular and neurosurgery, ENT, nephrology, neurology, medical and radiation oncology, physiatry and endocrinology.  Also included are a 20-physician hospitalist team, a full-service intensivist staff and a team of interventional radiologists.
