The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Cardiovascular Division is seeking an academic Electrophysiology Cardiologist to be the Section Head of the Electrophysiology Section. The physician’s practice will be limited to electrophysiology. The successful candidate will have experience in all areas of clinical cardiac electrophysiology including: diagnostic EPS, catheter ablation, and pacemaker/ICD implantation. The successful candidate will also have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a busy academic electrophysiology practice.

Strong clinical abilities are a prerequisite for the position and the ability to establish and grow an innovative regional and national practice with outreach activity is anticipated. While not mandatory, it is preferred that the candidate have an established clinical or translational research program and a demonstrated ability to attract research funding. Several years of direct clinical and research experience would be advantageous, but less experienced candidates with exceptional promise will also be considered.

The successful candidate would be expected to fully integrate with internationally renowned cross-disciplinary programs in the Cardiovascular Medicine Division and Cardiac Surgery Division. The Division has a longstanding interest in educating trainees in cardiology, medicine, and basic science, as well as the extended cardiovascular community.

Appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have either an MD or an MD, PhD, Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine. Eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts and BC/BE in CCEP are also required.
