The Department of Hematology, University of Milano Bicocca, S. Gerardo Hospital in Monza is seeking applicants for a combined appointment in Bone Marrow Transplantation, at the rank of Senior physician/Associate professor position. Clinical focus will be in allogeneic transplant and other cellular therapies for patients with myeloid and lymphoid malignancies. Faculty duties include the establishment and coordination of a focused research and clinic practice, and attending on the Inpatient and Outpatient Transplant Services.
Our present four Faculty perform over 100 transplants and approximately 40 cellular therapy procedures annually, while conducting basic, translational, and clinical research. The BMT Unit has a very strong clinical and research partnership with the Department of Malignant Hematology at University of Milano Bicocca. We look for an individual able to make this unit to growth, with a particular emphasis on scientific productivity and clinical trial activity.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified applicants will possess an MD degree, a medical license or eligibility in Italy, board eligibility/certification in Hematology, and BMT training. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in clinical and translational research in hematological disorders and with the ability to secure peer-reviewed funding. The appointment will be initially hospital-based, but a double appointment for qualified individuals is preferable; in such a case a research track record qualifying the individual for an Associate Professor position in Hematology (abilitazione) is also necessary.
