Job Details
Western Connecticut Medical Group is seeking a Primary Care Staff Physician for their Newtown Primary and Specialty Care Practice in Newtown, CT (less than 80 miles from NYC). Work with experienced physicians in a growing practice in a family friendly location in a brand new state-of-art multispecialty practice that opened in October 2016. At this busy established practice you will work closely with three physician colleagues as well as three APRN/Physician Assistants. Our physicians are supported by Advanced Practice Providers, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.
At Western Connecticut Medical Group, our priorities are to provide patients with personalized and attentive care, help patients manage chronic medical problems, and enable our patients to get and stay as healthy as possible. This location is a NCQA certified level 3, Patient Centered Medical Home. We have the ability to coordinate primary care and specialty care needs with the advanced diagnostic and treatment services available through our network of over 385 physicians and three member hospitals: Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, and Norwalk Hospital.

Job Summary:
Provide medical care to patients in an outpatient setting, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses. Teaching opportunities are possible for some roles.
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO with Connecticut State and Federal Narcotic Use Registration.
- Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine AND Pediatric Residency OR Family Medicine Residency and be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Flexible weekday schedules between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. Full-Time position, 37.5 hours available for patient contact per week. Call responsibilities shared with providers from multiple locations. Night nurse services currently utilized for call when appropriate.
