The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Medicine seeks an academic leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will be a national leader in gastroenterology with an outstanding record of research and academic accomplishments. A firm commitment to advancing the clinical operations of the Division is essential. Accomplished leadership skills with a commitment to clinical and scientific collaborations and multidisciplinary care models is essential. Prior administrative and management experience is highly encouraged.

The Division of Gastroenterology at MGH is the academic home for over 50 full-time faculty members, many of whom have active research programs across the spectrum of gastroenterology research. The Division supports educational programs for Harvard medical students and Internal Medicine residents as well as leading fellowships in gastroenterology, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, and motility. The clinical activities of the Division span a range of inpatient and outpatient settings, providing cutting edge care across the spectrum of digestive diseases. The Division is actively growing programs to address needs of disadvantaged communities. The successful candidate for this leadership position would be expected to actively participate across all the activities in the Division and provide mentorship for faculty and fellows in their career development.

The candidate must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School based upon experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD.
