Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army. Recruitment or relocation bonus may be authorized. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment

The position is located in USAG Bavaria and encompasses and provides service to U.S. Army installations in Grafenwoehr (Tower Barracks), Vilseck (Rose Barracks), Hohenfels (Hohenfels Training Area) and Garmisch (Artillery Kasern and Sheridan Barracks). USAG Bavaria has approximately 35,500 community members. To put our population in perspective, the National League of Cities data shows that over 90% of municipal governments in the U.S. have.Like large municipalities, we are service providers. However, USAG Bavaria is responsible for providing services that civilian municipalities are not chartered to provide such as the sustainment, restoration, and modernization of all facilities within our installation borders. Unlike most municipalities, USAG Bavaria also funds all utilities services within our footprint.

Licensed physician having completed residency training in Family Practice and be board certified or board eligible in Family Practice. Provides medical services/procedures as appropriate to examine, diagnose, and treat infants, children, and adult patients within the scope of practice of a family physician. Applies diversified knowledge of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic medical and surgical procedures. Performs surgical procedures in emergencies and performs minor surgical procedures. Assesses the health status of patient. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings on the physical assessment and history taking. Prescribes medications, as appropriate, in accordance with the hospital regulations and protocols. Orders lab and other tests as appropriate to evaluate patient's health status. Interprets the results of tests and follows up on abnormal reports. Maintains documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with hospital directives. Openings in hospital setting and clinical setting.

 Must Be A US Citizen

Physician must be board eligible/certified in Family Practice. Certification in BLS, PALS, NRP and ACLS is required. Must be eligible for full credentials to provide clinical care to eligible beneficiaries. Must be eligible for certification by the American Board of Family Practice without further training. Basic Requirements: Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant’s graduation. Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 3 years of residency training in family practice from an institution accredited for such training. Licensure: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
