Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN), located in Philadelphia, is seeking a full-time, board-certified Rheumatologist. Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, an independent academic medical center and the flagship hospital of the Einstein Healthcare Network, is a 676-bed tertiary care hospital and a major teaching affiliate of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Medical students from Drexel University College of Medicine and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine also rotate at Einstein Medical Center. Einstein is the largest independent academic medical center in the region with more than 400 residents and fellows trained in 33 different programs each year and more than 500 primary care doctors and specialists on staff. Einstein offers advanced treatments in heart, stroke, cancer care, breast health, organ disease and transplantation, orthopedics, women’s health and pain management.

The successful candidate must qualify for appointment to the Kimmel School of Medicine at least at the level of Associate Professor. We welcome a physician leader interested in being involved in all aspects of the Rheumatology department with an interest in building novel programs that address the needs of our diverse patient population. You will serve as Fellowship Program Director as well.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
  • Be eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.
  • Possess at least five years’ experience with progressive administrative and leadership responsibilities.
  • Interested in leading a lively, energetic, and committed group of physicians providing quality care to our patients and solid evidence-based education to our residents, medical students and PA trainees.

Einstein has a network of more than 40 primary care practices, in addition to aligned primary care physicians who refer patients to Einstein subspecialists. Throughout its 150 years, Einstein has consistently achieved a solid financial performance and maintained a flourishing presence in our primary service area, serving a diverse patient population.

The Department of Medicine’s residency training program is one of the best in the nation with an ABIM board pass rate over 98% for the past 10 years. It is the winningest program nationwide in the American College of Surgeons’ annual Doctor’s Dilemma contest. Our residents have won this contest on seven occasions, including each year from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, 25 third-year residents published 68 articles indexed in PubMed. The department also has 13 subspecialty training programs across all the subspecialties of internal medicine.

The division has an ACGM-accredited fellowship program with rotations at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park. The division has a level 3 complexity lab that was built within the suite for synovial crystal analysis as an educational tool for the fellowship program.
