Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital
The Fellow-Hospitalist Program will rotate through the various clinical and leadership functions at Bridgeport Hospital as well as educational forums within Yale New Haven Health. Additionally, the fellow will lead a multidisciplinary clinical redesign/research/quality improvement project within a matrix environment. This one-year Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport Connecticut is designed to: - Develop and train a physician leader in Hospital Medicine - Promote research competency in clinical redesign projects - Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams - Gain experience in hospital administration functions such as operational and financial aspects - Support Bridgeport Hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values

Responsibilities
- 1.Meeting Support
- 1.1Develop the agenda, provide written summary and coordinate presentations for key executive meetings, including but not limited to Senior Operations Group, Senior Vice Presidents, Department Heads and Quarterly Management meetings.
- 2.Project Work
- 2.1Actively participates in special projects/task forces; demonstrates ability to lead and motivate work teams
- 3.Develop Broad Range of Healthcare Management Skills
- 3.1Develop understanding of Hospital Administrative functions to include operational, clinical, financial, and regulatory aspects
- 4.Participate in shadowing experiences to develop understanding of hospital operations.
- 4.1Rotate through the various clinical and leadership functions as well as educational forums within the Health System
- 5.Participate in project management and support as directed by the COO and designated SVPs.
- 5.1Areas of focus have include operational effectiveness, service excellence, performance improvement , regulatory readiness, ambulatory services, employee engagement and business development.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Applicants must be a graduate of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Medicine-Pediatrics and be Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
EXPERIENCE
New or recent graduate from residency program or experienced clinician with interest in Hospital Medicine.
