TriHealth Heart Institute (THI) in conjunction with the TriHealth Cancer Institute (TCI) is seeking a sixth Cardio-Thoracic (CT) Surgeon to add to our existing team of five active surgeons. The ideal candidate will have:
· primary clinical focus with appropriate training and expertise in General Thoracic Surgery (including lung, airway, esophageal, and chest wall surgical procedures) and also minimally-invasive approaches
· secondary clinical focus with appropriate training and expertise in Cardiac Surgery as required for cross-coverage of CT Surgery patients
The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and promote a collegial approach to patient care. ABTS Board-certified/Board-eligible candidates are encouraged to apply.
THI CT Surgeons lead the region in performing minimally- invasive cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures. We have a long history of providing top quartile, evidence-based, process-oriented, and outcome-driven care in our two flagship acute care hospitals, Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) and Bethesda North Hospital (BNH). We have Post-surgical Universal Bed Units where patients stay postoperatively until discharge (includes in-unit Care Coordination, Social Work, and Pharmacy support). We have experienced, attentive, and dedicated NP/APRNs and office support staff.
The TriHealth Cancer Institute is the largest provider of oncology care in the Greater Cincinnati region and diagnoses 4,000 new cancer cases a year with over 600 new lung cancer cases. THI and TCI together sponsor and staff weekly/bi-weekly Multi-Disciplinary Lung Clinics in two ambulatory settings and Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board meetings at both GSH and BNH.
We also have developed a lung cancer screening program, genomic tumor board for lung cancer, patient navigation, and the outpatient services of nutrition, mental health services, smoking cessation, social work, financial counseling and a cancer wellness program. The collaboration of THI and TCI is a model of oncology care in bringing together dedicated
