About Us:

Whitney Pediatrics is an urban/suburban practice with a multicultural and varied patient base. The practice was founded in 1953 in New Haven. Many of our patients are 3rd generation adding a true family-centered feel to our practice. We care for many patients with complex medical problems, allowing us to continue our skills managing complex medical illnesses. We also have a case management approach to all of our patients.

Due to our close proximity to Yale University and Quinnipiac University, we have many university connections including medical students who rotate through our office from both medical schools. In addition, we have Yale Pediatric Residents and Nurse Practitioner Students who spend their clinical rotations in our practice. Our pediatricians also have Yale clinical faculty status.

We are seekinga licensed, board certified Pediatrician who has experience working with children of all ages and various medical conditions. The ideal candidate isflexible, knowledgeable and acompassionate physician who is seasoned in the care and well-being of children in our community. The successful candidate willprovide medical care and consult with specialists. Responsibilities

Primary Job responsibilities include:

  1. Provide comprehensive pediatric care to both well and sick children, adolescents and young adults age 0-22.
  2. Continuing educationin the field by attending regular CME and recertification. One week of paid CME provided yearly.
  3. Consulting on mental health and school issues that affect our families and making appropriate referrals as indicated. Collaborating with our in-office mental health provider when necessary.
  4. Attending weekly provider meetings to maximize the group’s combined experience in patient management as well as sharing critical updates.
  5. Rounding at Yale New Haven Hospital Campuses one morning per week where we see newborns and the appropriate medical patients.
  6. Providing support to our experienced nurse practitioners as needed.
  7. Working with our team of nurses and reception.
  8. Shared call with group.
  9. Hours to include one evening session per week

Qualifications
  • MD or DO Degree
  • Board certified through the American Board of Pediatrics
  • Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license
  • Experience with EHR (electronic health records) preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • BLS certification
  • Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate
