For more than a decade, Cleveland Clinic's Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute has formed affiliations with cardiothoracic surgery and cardiovascular medicine programs in Ohio and across the country, aimed to combine the unparalleled research and expertise of Cleveland Clinic's heart program with other cardiac leaders.

Cleveland Clinic's Heart and Vascular Institute's newest affiliation with the Martin Health System, is seeking a highly qualified BoardCertified/Board Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon­ to join its practice at the Martin Health System in Stuart, Florida, which is located on the Treasure Coast.

The position responsibilities entail being able to perform all aspects of Adult Cardiac Surgery. Surgeons at the institution offer expertise in minimally invasive valve surgery, off-pump coronary bypass, arrhythmia surgery, surgery for complex valvular heart disease and heart failure, mitral valve repair, thoracic aortic surgery, thoracoscopic lung resection and mediastinal surgery. A robotic surgical program is under development. Future goals include the development of a regional destination cardiac surgery program and lung cancer center. Endovascular and/or assist device experience is desirable but not a requirement. Expertise in General Thoracic Surgery is desirable but not an absolute requirement.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that is coordinating clinical care, research, education, and growth of Cleveland Clinic Florida cardiothoracic surgery services in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute in Ohio and Martin Health System.

Martin Health System, a regional not-for-profit provider with three acute care hospitals and a comprehensive network of outpatient services, has provided care to residents of Florida's Treasure coast for nearly 80 years. The Frances Langford Heart Center at Martin Health has been providing nationally recognized cardiovascular care since it opened in 2006.

Cleveland Clinic and Martin Health System announced an affiliation agreement to share best practices in cardiology and heart surgery, optimize superior patient-centered care, and develop programs to improve quality, safety and outcomes.

The cardiac programs at Cleveland Clinic's Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute and the Frances Langford Heart Center at Martin Health will form this affiliation. Through these relationships, Cleveland Clinic provides management services, including clinical direction, quality assurance, and access to the latest in cutting-edge technologies and techniques.

The Frances Langford Heart Center at Martin Health System provides exceptional cardiac care to help our heart patients lead longer, healthier lives. During hospitalization, you are visited frequently by members of our team who are involved in the planning and implementation of your care. We offer a full spectrum of services ranging from diagnostic to interventional services such as angioplasty, coronary artery stenting, pacemaker insertions, internal defibrillator placements, open-heart surgery and heart valve replacement. In addition, we provide outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services and educational programs for individual patients as well as for the public.

Our outstanding cardiology and interventional cardiology team includes physicians primarily from the practices of Cardiology Associates of Stuart and Stuart Cardiology Group.

The Heart Center's surgical team consists of cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiovascular anesthesiologists working together to provide quality care for our heart surgery patients. We have partnered with the renowned Ocala Heart Institute which is recognized nationally as an outstanding provider of care.
